A second bicycle tour of Historic Perrysburg to benefit the Perrysburg Area Historic Museum is scheduled for Sunday, August 29, at 5 p.m.  This family fun event, which is being sponsored by the Skotynsky Financial Group will offer cyclists of all ages an opportunity to “ride and learn” with local historians, Judith Justus, Richard Baranowski, and Gary L. Franks.  The tour will be led by City Councilman, and local history buff, Mark Weber.

Much like the first tour in 2019, riders will wind through the streets and alleys of Old Perrysburg as the historians share interesting facts and stories of over forty points of interest.

Several new sites have been added this year to include homes of some of the most prominent people of Perrysburg’s past, the hydraulic canal, and Perrysburg’s riverfront industries of the 1800s.

The tour will begin in the parking lot of the Way Public Library, and finish at O-Deer Diner where participants will receive a complimentary ice cream cone from owners, Rick and Dana Ruffner.

For anyone who does not have a bicycle, one can be provided at no cost by calling Charlie, at 419-779-5445. There is no cost for this event, although donations to the museum are always welcomed and appreciated.  Rain date will be September 5 with all other details remaining the same.
